Translator Manager
CMN Translator Manager
The Manager is a Windows program, CMNSetup.exe. Its window is titled CMN Translator — Setup and Glossary Manager. It installs and updates the plug-in and imports or exports the company glossary, so you never type a command or look for program files for these jobs. If you received CMNSetup.exe instead of a Setup zip, use it in place of steps 1 and 2 above.
Close AutoCAD, then double-click CMNSetup.exe
The program is not digitally signed. If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, choose More info, then Run anyway.
Click Install bundled version, then OK
It installs the version built into the EXE, the updater that MNUPDATE and MNROLLBACK use, and a desktop shortcut named CMN Translator Manager. The package inside the EXE is checked with SHA-256 before anything is installed. No internet and no administrator rights are needed. Your company glossary and settings are kept.
From now on, use the desktop shortcut
The Manager keeps its own copy, so you can move or delete the EXE you downloaded. Then start AutoCAD, choose Always Load and type MNVERSION, as in step 3 above.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Install bundled version | Installs the version inside this EXE. Use it on a new PC, or to repair an installation. Close AutoCAD first. |
| Check for updates | Asks the update source whether a newer version exists. Installs nothing. |
| Install update | Downloads the newer version, checks it and installs it. If AutoCAD is open, the update waits until AutoCAD closes. |
| Finish pending install | Installs an update that is waiting. Close AutoCAD first. |
| Choose update source… | Picks a release.json supplied by IT, for example on a network share. Keep that file and its application zip together. |
| Use GitHub updates | Switches the update source back to the published releases and checks at once. |
| Import glossary… | Adds an XLSX workbook or a CSV UTF-8 file to the company glossary. |
| Export glossary… | Saves a copy of the company glossary. XLSX is the complete workbook with every sheet and the protected codes. CSV holds the terminology rows only. |
| Glossary status | Counts the company glossary rows: total, approved for use, needs review, and rows with no Chinese key. |
| Create desktop shortcut | Puts the CMN Translator Manager shortcut back on the desktop. |
When the update source is GitHub, the Manager checks for updates by itself each time it opens and shows the result. It never installs anything until you click a button. Only one job runs at a time; the window cannot be closed while one is running.
Importing and exporting the glossary
- A backup of the company glossary is made before anything changes.
- Approved wording already in the company glossary is never replaced. A row that gives a different Mongolian word is not imported; it is listed under Conflicts not imported.
- Each row keeps its status. Rows marked needs_review stay unused until someone approves them.
- The file needs a mongolian column and a chinese or english column.
- If the file contains ?? or replacement symbols, nothing is imported. These are lost Cyrillic or Chinese letters, usually from saving as plain CSV. Save it as XLSX or CSV UTF-8 and import again.
- An export never overwrites an existing file. Keep the suggested name (CMN-company-glossary-<date-time>) or choose a new one.
- Import and export send nothing over the internet: no drawings and no API keys.
